Our regular Saturday mornings are entering the brave new world of live online yoga classes via Zoom! While our normal Saturday 9-10 am group classes at the Redland Green Club are on hold as we respect social distancing measures to reduce the spread of the Corona virus, we will now have a chance to connect with ourselves and each other on our chosen device (smartphone, tablet, computer or laptop).
Here are some steps you’ll need to take to join:
If you want to attend a Zoom class you must contact me via email or text at least 1 hour before class. We won’t have class deals- just a simple £5/class system payable by online banking. Please quote “yoga class” in the reference box. Make sure to message me that you are attending and I will send you the link for the meeting. 5-10 minutes before the class is due to begin, click the link you’ve been sent to join.
You’ll need a device to join the online class. Download or sign up with Zoom in advance as a “Client for Meetings.” This is a free account you will need to establish to be able to access the “meeting.”
Carve out a space in your home that is warm and quiet for your practice. Make sure your device is charged and set up so that you can see the screen with the volume/speakers turned up.
When you join you will have the option to switch your video on or off. It is your choice, but if you switch it on I will be able to see you and you will be visible as one of the thumbnails of students attending class 🙂
Once you arrive in the meeting, make sure you select Lumina Kemp as the main view and not the grid view of all attendees. If this doesn’t happen automatically select the virtual class and click on the three dots to “pin” my name making me full screen.
I hope we’ll have a few minutes before and after class for announcements, questions and any other support. So please arrive to the meeting 5-10 minutes before the start time. When class is about to start I will mute all attendees for the duration of class and un-mute you again at the end to check back in and say goodbye.
If you would like to listen to some music in the background during class here is a link to a playlist I put together on Spotify:
Please let me know if you have questions, concerns or suggestions! I look forward to connecting with you!
