My name is Lumina and I’m a certified Yoga Instructor based in Bristol, UK. I have been teaching heart-centered Hatha Flow Yoga classes since 2009. My classes are sometimes low and slow, sometimes uplifting and fiery, and always carry an emphasis on cultivating awareness by aligning movement with breath and mind with yogic teachings. I strive to organize sequences that are available to all levels – challenging students to explore, express and experience their own body/mind connection.
I am originally from a small town in Ohio, USA, where I became interested in meditation in grade school and started practicing yoga when I was a teenager. In 2009 I attended my first Yoga Teacher Training at Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico. It was during this training that I experienced a great shift in my life and developed the skills I would need to share the practice with a heart-centered approach. Since then, I have taught classes in Chile, USA, Mexico and the UK. After moving to Bristol I started offering regular classes in January 2015. Since then I began advanced teacher training first in Spain with Frog Lotus Yoga International in 2016, and later with the Bristol School of Yoga in 2018. I have most recently completed Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli through Yoga Campus in London. I am always humbled by the deep well of wisdom available in the history, theory and practice of yoga. I am so honoured and grateful to share this extraordinary practice and to help guide students in the process of reconnecting with their breath, their bodies and their true selves.
